    Features

    Why an SMS code

    Works on every phone

Text messages need no app and no data plan, which makes SMS codes very inclusive.

    Consistent replies

A pre-filled keyword means every message looks the same and is easy to process.

    Nothing is sent automatically

The code only opens a draft. The sender stays in control.

    Use cases

    Ideas for SMS codes

    Offer opt-ins

"Text DEAL to get this week's offer."

    Queue and callbacks

    Event check-in

Send a keyword to register attendance.

    Report a problem

Facility notices that send the location in the text.

    Property enquiries

Pre-filled text with the property reference.

    Quotes

"Text QUOTE for a call back from our team."

    Questions

    Before you print

    Anything else? Write to us.

Does the SMS send by itself?

No. Scanning opens the messages app with the text filled in. The person must tap send.

    Does it work on iPhone?

Yes. The code uses the standard sms: link, which the iPhone camera and Android scanners open in the messages app.

Can I leave the message empty?

Yes. Then the code just opens a new text to your number.

    Are there carrier charges?

The person sending the text pays their normal SMS rate, if any. The QR code itself is free.

Can I change a static QR code later?

No. Once it is printed, a static code always contains the same content. If the details might change, point the code to a web page you control, then update that page instead. Or create a new code.
